Our Approach
At INTEGRATIVE, we build on the trusted foundation of professional counseling services while expanding into a truly integrative model. The Wellness Continuum reflects this philosophy: we recognize that mental health is not simply the absence of illness, but a dynamic spectrum ranging from disorder and distress to resilience and flourishing.
The Wellness Continuum illustrates that wellbeing exists along a continuum, rather than being a fixed state. Individuals, families, and workplaces move along this continuum depending on life circumstances, stressors, and the quality of support available.
The Wellness Continuum

1. Wellness
-
Individual & Family: High resilience, energy, and fulfilment. Strong, supportive relationships and a sense of meaning.
-
Workplace: Employees are engaged, creative, and connected. Organizations benefit from high performance, collaboration, and retention.
2. Healthy
-
Individual & Family: Stable functioning with manageable pressures of daily life. Self-care and supportive connections help sustain wellbeing.
-
Workplace: Staff maintain balance and adapt to normal demands. Preventive strategies and supportive leadership sustain this state.
3. Stressed
-
Individual & Family: Experiences of fatigue, irritability, or pressure. Still able to cope, but without timely care, stress may deepen.
-
Workplace: Workload, conflict, or time pressure lowers morale and productivity. Early prevention is key to avoid escalation.
4. Distressed
-
Individual & Family: Emotional or relational struggles become significant—such as anxiety, depression, or family conflict. Professional counseling may be needed.
-
Workplace: Staff show visible difficulties (absenteeism, presenteeism, burnout). Supportive interventions and counseling are critical.
5. Disordered
-
Individual & Family: A state of crisis or clinical disorder. Functioning is impaired, and conditions such as major depression, trauma, or severe conflict may appear. Immediate, structured professional or medical care is necessary.
-
Workplace: Employees in this state may be unable to function at work, facing crises that require intensive support, accommodations, and in some cases medical or psychiatric treatment.
